Fire at a Thatch Cottage, Blackburn

A Grade II listed building damaged due to a thatched roof fire.

The rate at which the fire spread through the building caused Mr & Mrs Walker real concern. Naturally the owners did not want the roof replacing with straw thatch. Despite the property being grade II listed, Bedfords Surveyors managed to obtain approval for the use of an alternative roof covering, stone slate.
